Susanne Wex

I have been painting since the year 2000 and my driving force in painting is a longing to express myself in a visual language. Meetings with people and the nature is an eternal source of inspiration. In my pictures the abstract expression meets fragments of the nature.

It is the intuitive and spontaneous that directs my painting process. To a great extent I am inspired by the surrounding atmosphere when I am standing in front of the canvas.

I use acrylics and express myself through the colour, the shape and the movements in the picture. I like to work fast to produce the desired expression. I have chosen blue as the most dominant colour in my paintings. Blue is the sky and the sea with their countless shades of blue.

For me, the picture has to tell a story. As the viewer, you should be able to explore and when you find your own story, the picture will get a new expression in the encounter with you.

I exhibit in my own gallery “Det Blå Atelier” in Højby, Odsherred.

I am a permanent exhibitor in Odsherred Kunstdage during Pentecost, where I have taken part since 2004.

I exhibit in art organisations   and in recent years at other venues such as:

Bovbjerg Fyr, Bovbjerg

Copenhagen City Court

Kailow, Albertslund.
