A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE PAINTINGS

My paintings move back and forth between the concrete and, more recently, a more abstract style of painting. The image is allowed to emerge slowly; I provide some clues, and the viewer is invited to fill in what is missing. Some of the motifs are often related, the same motifs appear in different styles and moods. Sometimes, sometimes, a sense of grandeur arises in the work, with chance playing a role in the pursuit of authenticity. Occasionally, I take a break from painting in favor of more practical work with sculpture.
